Resumen

Las necesarias medidas sanitarias propuestas para mitigar la expansión viral del SARS-CoV-2, como el distanciamiento físico y las cuarentenas, han repercutido no solo en la salud mental de la población sino también ha forzado cambios en la prestación de servicios psicológicos. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo recopilar información esencial sobre el concepto, ventajas, desventajas, usos y recomendaciones de la telepsicología en tiempos de COVID-19. Para ello se realizó una revisión sistemática de la evidencia científica disponible en las bases de datos de Scopus, PubMed y Web of Science. Entre sus resultados se destaca la accesibilidad, la disminución del estigma y la flexibilidad en su aplicación. También se refieren limitaciones como la inseguridad en la privacidad de los datos, las barreras de acceso y la baja formación clínica en competencias necesarias para este formato. Por otra parte, se encontró evidencia favorable de su uso para el tratamiento del trastorno de estrés postraumático, pánico y agorafobia, ansiedad generalizada, y trauma. Se concluye que la intervención psicoterapéutica a través de la telepsicología, en consideración de ciertas recomendaciones y sugerencias críticas, puede ofrecer resultados satisfactorios para el paciente y terapeuta y ser apta para diversos rangos etarios y trastornos.
