Abstract
El artículo presenta el desarrollo del Inventario Puertorriqueño de Intereses Vocacionales. El Inventario contiene 13 escalas por áreas de intereses, pero no utiliza la selección forzada en sus ítems. Inicialmente 920 ítems fueron administrados a una muestra representativa de 4,226 estudiantes de escuela superior en Puerto Rico. Se eliminaron items a los que más del 85% de los sujetos indicaron que les gustaba, les o les disgustaban. También se eliminaron items con marcadas diferencias regionales. Una serie de 18 análisis factoriales permitieron escoger los mejores 260 items.
