Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo es presentar el proceso de construcción de una escala para evaluar la Promoción de Desafíos por parte de los padres hacia sus hijos adolescentes. En una primera etapa se estudió la adecuación de las definiciones conceptuales y operacionales a nuestra cultura. Para ello, se revisó la bibliografía disponible y se sometió a la opinión de jueces expertos. En la segunda etapa, se aplicó la versión construida de la escala a 358 adolescentes (edad M = 14.8; DE = 1.9) de dos escuelas secundarias de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires/AR. Se estudió la validez de constructo, la capacidad de discriminación de los ítems, la confiabilidad y las correlaciones con otros constructos teóricamente relacionados. Los resultados muestran que la escala posee adecuados índices de validez y confiabilidad para la evaluación de este constructo en nuestro contexto y que implica una característica familiar que podría contribuir a un desarrollo positivo de los adolescentes.
