Abstract

Violência entre Parceiros Íntimos-VPI é um grave problema de saúde pública devido às várias consequências diretas e indiretas que trazem para as vítimas e pessoas próximas a estas. Este estudo objetivou conhecer as publicações atuais, principais pesquisadores, periódicos, como o termo é definido e quais tipos de violência são mais retratados através de pesquisa bibliométrica nas bases de dados Web of Science, PsycINFO, Dialnet, Lilacs e Redalyc, entre 2006-2011. Encontrou-se 426 artigos completos. Houve um acréscimo nas publicações nos últimos anos: a mulher foi abordada como principal vítima nas pesquisas, sendo poucos os estudos que abarcam a VPI entre casais homossexuais. Além disso, apenas 19% dos artigos definem o termo, sendo a violência física e sexual os principais tipos abordados nos estudos.
