Abstract

En este estudio se exploró los síntomas psicológicos y se analizó la relación e impacto del funcionamiento

familiar, desde la perspectiva de los/as paciente/sobreviviente, la pareja cuidador/a y sus hijos), en el

funcionamiento psicológico de 51 hijos/as adolescentes de pacientes de cáncer. Los hallazgos revelaron

que los/as adolescentes exhibieron sintomatología en niveles clínicos. La expresividad familiar y una

relación marital satisfactoria de los pacientes/sobrevvientes son los factores protectores de un mejor

ajuste psicológico de los/as hijos/as. Las intervenciones con adolescentes que enfrentan el cáncer de

un padre o madre requieren un cernimiento de riesgo del funcionamiento psicológico y familiar e

intervenciones orientadas al sistema.
