Abstract

Abstract:

This article reviews cognitive psychology's theoretical aproximations to dehumanization, starting with Leyens et al. (2000) infrahumanization theory, following with Haslam's Dehumanization (2006) model, continuing with Fiske, Cuddy, Glick and Xu (2002) Stereotype Content Model, and finishing with Jack, Dawson and Norr's (2013) approach to understanding dehumanization underlying processes with fMRI. Possible relationships between the theories are explored as well as the new improvements these theories could benefit from.
